Angela Escribano, 69, of Springfield, Mass., went to her heavenly home on March 25, 2021, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, on January 28, 1952, to the late Gregorio Escribano and Filomena Escribano (Falcon). She graduated in 1972 from Springfield Trade High School in Springfield, Mass. Angela was employed at Armory Elementary School as well as other Springfield Schools as a Teacher’s Aide for many years. She was also employed at Baystate Medical Center in the Housekeeping Department until her retirement. Angela loved God with all her heart, and held a strong faith in Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior. She was an active member of her church and had a sincere passion for Children’s Ministry.
She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Roberto Gonzalez Jr., and Liandro Gonzalez; daughter-in-law Abrah Gonzalez; and stepchildren Robert A. Gonzalez and Zina Berman. Her greatest joy was spending time with family. She is survived by her brother, Jose Escribano and his wife, Sylvia Escribano; sister Maria Monroy and her husband, Jose Monroy; grandchildren Hideliza Gonzalez, Joesiah Gonzalez, Mariah Gonzalez, Elianni Gonzalez, Isaac Gonzalez and Logan Gonzalez; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Angela was preceded in death by her sister Ana Escribano.
Calling Hours are Monday, April 5, 2021, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., for the general public, at Spanish Christian Church, 565 Chestnut St. Springfield, MA. Memorial services commence at 7 p.m., and Tuesday, April 6, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by her burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.
Flowers may be sent to the Spanish Christian Church located at 565 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA, or, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA., or Sister Caritas Cancer Center, Springfield, MA., can be made in Memory of Angela Escribano.
