Obituary for Maria Vazquez (Vazquez)

Maria L. Vazquez, 49, passed away Monday June 15 2020, with family at her side, after fighting pancreatic cancer for 4 years.

She was born in Springfield, MA on September 16 1970. After attending Enrico Fermi High School in Enfield, CT, she went on to attend Asnuntuck Community College. Maria spent some time working as a home visiting nurse in the Enfield community, where she was also involved in many youth and community outreach programs. She was also a certified drug addiction counselor and helped run an addiction counseling group.

An active member of Ministries of Love and Hope Church, Maria was an ordained minister and group leader, and ministered to prisoners as part of a Prison Ministry group. Her love of faith and community allowed her to be a mentor and confidante to many people in her community.

Maria had a profound love for nature, and enjoyed hiking and camping, but most of all she loved the ocean. She enjoyed music and dance, and would sing at every opportunity.

Above all else, Maria loved her family and friends. She is survived by her Mother, Penelope Vazquez, of West Springfield MA, 3 children: James Burgess and Rebekah Vazquez, of Enfield, and Justin Vazquez Woronecki, of Westerly, RI., and their partners; 3 siblings: Maximino Vazquez, Jr., and wife Kellyann, of Westerly RI, Sandra Ames, of Norway ME, and Sarah Dostie, and husband Jarrod, of Poland ME; 5 grandchildren, 12 nieces and nephews, and many more.

Maria is dearly missed by all those whose lives she has touched and will be remembered most fondly. May she finally rest in peace.

A tribute to Evangelist Maria Vazquez and the Vazquez Family,
My heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the Vazquez family and extended family. Death is never easy, but this death has been extremely difficult. Maria was a special woman. God chose her to shine a light in a darken world. In spite of her difficulties and pain her faith remained strong and steady. She was willingly to help and extend self to all th.t needed her help. Needless to say, she loved to witness about God to anyone who would listen and even some who may not have wanted to listen. Her love for God, family, friends and church family will be forever in my heart.
II Timothy 4: 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

My Dear Maria. I love you and will miss your loving sweet smiling face. When I think about you all I can think about is a lady that was after God's heart. A praying lady. You would pray at the drop of a dime without a moment's hesitation. I know that you truly loved the Lord and are resting in his arms. A song that reminds me of you tremendously is "I can only imagine" by Tamela Mann. I Know you imagined singing at Jesus' feet with your beautiful voice worshipping him surrounded by his Glory🌟 . I will miss you singing praises to our God. I know you very close to so many friends and your family. I'm sending my sincerest condolences to all your loved ones and dearest friends at this time. May they be at peace knowing you are with our maker rejoicing. 🙏🏽🌟

My deepest sympathy and condolence to the Family of Maria Vazquez. What can I say about Maria, what a sister, what a worker, what a friend? I was blessed to have all three in one. She loved God, family and church. Maria loved working at the outreach center, she was there more than anyone else. She would not accept a ride to the center believing she would miss an opportunity to witness to someone about Jesus. She was a lover of God and people. Love you my sister and I will miss you greatly. To the family of Evangelist Maria, please accept our deepest sympathy. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
I will remember our times spent talkung at Starbucks inside Barnes and Nobles. I will remember doing community events together at St Pat's and the Youth Christmas party where you would read the stories. I will always remember your zeal for God and praise and Worship. My dear sister has crossed over. Your presence is missed. You completed your race and kept the faith. RIP.❤❤
